RANDY ARRIVES by Gaylia Kenslow – Stogsdill

On Saturday, the third of September, just before Labor Day –
You entered St. Joseph hospital for a brief but welcomed stay.
Just a few minutes past noon time your face was lighted with joy –
For there at the nursery room window was your own new born baby boy.
They no more then had you settled in your room in the maternity wing –
When Leon appeared in the doorway and my, his face, how he beamed.
You huddled together so closely, what would the baby’s name be –
“Of course that’s the name we will give him. He will be Randy Lee.”
So may this eight pound, seven ounce, twenty-one inch baby boy –
Bring you all the happiness in the world and everlasting joy.
