As a host he was not the best selection I had ever made. Maybe my choice was made because he was so easy. So easy in fact I had to curb my excitement and appetite. Giddy I began to feed with a gusto that could jeopardize my plan. After a moment my feeding slowed.
Deciding the amount I could remove is often tricky, especially one so mentally challenged. I smiled and thought, “A possible inbred for sure.”. But that was of no matter to me, I still could savor his life flowing into me.
For many years I lived dwelling in hosts such as him. At first feeding leaves them forgetful, later they no longer remember who they are or even those close to them. Most often they end up in a home, their loved ones unable or unwilling to care for them. Even then though, I sup on their life.
As their time comes to an end, it becomes tricky for me. I must leave them for a new host before their heart beat stops or I will die with them.
The world calls it a disease and remains baffled by the chain of events that diminishes them. If they only knew that it was only a demon parasite feeding and stealing their lives away.
