My first attempt at Blank Verse
I grasped her lovely neck with my hands
Feeling the now strong beat of her heart there
I force myself to gently squeeze at first
She smirks, laughs and mocks, her eyes defiant
I hesitate before releasing her
My anger becomes humiliation and shame
She laughs deeply as I release her throat
Looser, Scum, Cuckold, along with spit flow at me
My hands ball into fist, nails digging the palms
She knows me too well, never will I fight back,
My eyes lower to look at the floor, humble.
A slight moan of despair, escapes my mouth
Blank verse poetry is written in regular cadences but does not rhyme. Typically, it is written with ten syllables per line and an unstressed syllable is followed by an unstressed syllable. This pattern continues five times per line. This style is also known as unrhymed iambic pentameter.
