In the depths of my mind, There exists a realm. Monsters stalk this land, Rumormongers tell tales, And Politicians wag their fingers. Yet in this place there is a goodness, Derived from incredible acceptance. No one hangs their head in shame, Everyone’s gender, race and religion are accepted. I thrive here comfortable in my skin. My feelings are appreciated, My thoughts weighed in, My idiosyncrasies are nothing but the norm, My kinks are ignored and considered straights. A fantasy land? Yes! But still my getaway place. Closing my eyes, Directing my thoughts, Will take me there. Do you, by chance, sometimes dwell there? Roy Richard October 2023
