Isn’t it amazing,
That our brains remember best the bad?

Is it because of self-worth?
Or maybe self-hatred?

So many good memories!
So much happiness!

Yet I wallow in the deep dark pits,
Of memories that hurt too much.

Regret of actions not taken,
Shame for actions put in pace.

Please my psyche stop the sideshow!
Desist with the reruns of horror.

Give me the sunny days!
Love, happiness and laughter!

Regrets be gone!
Sorrow pack your bags!

Let me sleep in peace
Contentment become my friend!
