Fuck Golden Rules



Tis better to give than to receive.

Or some ass told me.

Early training, starting at an early age.

Taught to give, give, give.

Taught to follow the rules, ALL of the rules.

Taught to think of others,

Always placing myself second.



My mind was effectively brainwashed into believing,

That by doing so, love and acceptance would be mine.

But now a life wasted?

A life nearing its end?

Proves it all wrong.

Love is feigning.

Acceptance is a mirage.



Is there happiness for this soul?

Ha! Would I recognize it if I saw it?

Release me!

Let me be me!

Accept me without conditions!

Love me for who I am!



Let me finish my life satisfied and whole!
