Grinch,

Santa,

Frosty,

Charlie Brown’s Tree



Characters of a bad dream?

Nightmares of a childhood?

Supposed happiness in Technicolor?

All burned within my brain.

Tempting me with memories, not all good.



What would the season be?

Without this cast of misfits?

My head tries to revert,

To some type of childish glee.

But adult me says “Humbug”!



Hiding in the shadows, I think I see some good times,

But the bad memories dominate my mind.

Oh Mr. Grinch melt my heart of ice!

Someone, anyone, help me see past the gloom!

I do not want pain and despair this year!



Come on Joyous celebration!

And festive feelings!

And happiness and glee!

Just give me a 

Happy Merry Christmas
