OUR HOUSE by Gaylia Kenslow Stogsdill

Our house is in an awful fright –
It seems I’m going day and night.
The day just isn’t long enough –
For me to care for all the stuff,
I find myself confronted with,
And now I find I’m wonderin’ if –
I’ll ever get back on schedule –
And have a cleared-off kitchen table.
A washroom not filled to the brim –
An ironing with all dresses hemmed.
The puppy trained to go outdoors –
And not to use my once clean floors.
The carpet swept, the floor all waxed –
Our bare feet safe from carpet tacks.
The window clean and shiny bright –
Some time to watch TV at night.
Oh well! “Twould be quite nice for some –
But far too boring for the “old junk bum”.
