Is it not evident
That the status quo
Is, no longer acceptable?
 
Our nation’s leaders
Continue down the same paths
And nothing changes
 
After 248 years
You would think we have evolved
Truthfully, we have not
 
Race, gender, sex, color, etc.
All still have a dividing effect
On our fucked-up society
 
Do not preach equality
Lying to the masses
Then walk a different path
 
All the years of advancement
The perceived equality
Seem like a ghostly vision
 
Is it not evident
That in order to fix
The mess we are in

We must start anew?
Tear down the rotten institution
And build it fresh
