Lyman E. Stowe, Flint author of spiritual, prophetic and occult content.

As I research the literary members of Flint, It is always cool when I find something different and that I had not heard of. May I introduce you to Lymna E. Stowe.

Born in Flint in 1843 and died in Detroit in 1919.

“His writing sometimes blends biographical material (especially about his life) with spiritual or prophetic/occult content. For example, Karmenia includes life history from his birth in Flint through to later life.”

Here is a description of his book Karmenia
“321 pages of text. Main work contains 254 pages, which is followed by 67 pages of text titled "THE COSMOS." Front cover title includes "Better Known As Visions On the Battlefield." Grey hardcover cloth binding with black lettering and tooling. Illustrated with numerous plates and woodcut decorations. Biographical in nature, this work follows the life of Stowe from his birth in Flint Michigan in 1843 up to the date of publication. There are approximately two dozen pages referring to the 2nd Michigan Infantry in the Civil War, mostly about Spottsylvania, as well as a few other references scattered throughout the text. Notably, gives a story of Mrs. L. H. Seeley, known as Frank Thompson, the famous Nurse and Spy. Much of the book is devoted to occult experiences. A series of short occult stories, real experiences during the life of a man 72 years of age, garnished in the clothes of fiction [see preface]…”
