CHRISTMAS 1975 by Gaylia Kenslow – Stogsdill

A Christmas message should impart,
The feelings deep within one’s heart.
And every year we try to find,
A very extra – special kind.
One that tells about the season.
With words of wisdom, truth and reason.
We thought this year we’d like to send,
A patriotic message to family and friends.
And in so doing we haven’t left out,
What this seasons all about.
God gave us a country – a land rich indeed,
We can carry our Bibles, practice our creed,
We can worship the Birth of God’s Son,
In churches, cathedrals, in hearts at home.
We can pray the Rosary, worship free of fear,
In a country beginning its 200th year.
At this joyous season, may we pause and pray.
Thanking God for the Country we live in today.
Ask His special blessing, that we may truly be,
The home of the brave, where all men are free.
