Oh wow! I fell prey to the mainstream teen phenomenon
Yeah, man, my generation had the commercial power 
And cause we had shared interests and “disposable income.”
We changed the world

Step aside, you children of the 50’s
And let us who grew up in the 60’s and 70’s instruct
We were a major force in shaping popular culture, fashion, and consumer habits.
You see, we were a youth culture
We created distinct social practices, beliefs, and behaviors 
We dictated, Man, fashions, musical tastes, and slang

We had the sermonizing of Timothy Leary
“Tune In, Turn On, Drop Out” 
Tune in! Activate your grey matter!
Come on now, Man, drop out of the mainstream consumer culture!
Then tune in to yourself!
The four I’s, Man: introspection, internal control, internal freedom, and internal solutions.
Self-expression is where it’s at!
Inner personality, thoughts, feelings, and desires
Brought to you through various media
Art, fashion, speech, and behavior. 

Where, though, have we gone?
Our brains rot on television
